Elena Kampouris is our girl crush of the week and today’s actually her birthday!

Elena is known for her role as Allison Doss in 2014’s Men, Women & Children, and Maya Decker in the series American Odyssey. We’ve always been a big fan of hers so we thought we’d share some fun facts about her below.

7 things you didn’t know about Elena Kampouris

On her acting debut

She first starred on The CW’s series Gossip Girl with a small guest role as Constance Girl #2. I mean who wouldn’t want to share the screen with Serena and Blair!

On her family

Her parents have been supportive of her since the beginning. Her father always encouraged her to be creative and go to auditions. She credits them with being the driving force behind kick-starting her career. Her mother was a big inspiration to her as well, growing up in a small town, her mother moved to New York City and graduated from Parsons’ School of Design (Tom Ford was a classmate!).

On her love for Garage

Elena reached out to us a couple of years back after visiting our store in her hometown New Jersey to tell us how she loved it. We were so excited to collaborate with her and send her some of our fave items. She definitely knows how to rock our clothes:

On her new film

Elena couldn’t hold her excitement when she landed her part in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.With her father being of Greek origin, she fits right in with the Portokalos family!

“Nothing I’m going to do in my life now is going to top this, unless I carry the Greek torch in the Olympics.”

She obviously had no trouble getting into character!

On why this movie was important to her

Her Greek roots played a big part in her desire to land a role in the movie, although she hesitated before auditioning considering she has blue eyes and blonde hair (not the classic Greek look). She also feared not getting the part and disappointing her family. Luckily the exact opposite happened! She felt at home with the Portokalos family and even called her co-star Papou off set!

On her debut on Broadway

Elena will soon be appearing in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a new Broadway show premiering October 8 based on a french novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. Elena plays the role of Cécile Volanges, a newly engaged young lady who has recently been presented to society after spending her formative years in the shelter of a convent. Sounds interesting!
