Not to make you all super jealous or anything but this is literally THE BEST INTERNSHIP EVER. This weekend I’ll be going to Osheaga Music Festival with Garage and some special guests. I know, going to a music festival with work… ok I won’t blame you for being jealous! But now I have a big mission ahead of me: what should I wear?! The interns raided the Holy-Garage-Closet with me to choose our favourite festival looks. Which ones are your faves? Or do you just want them all? I know I do *cue exaggerated dramatic sigh*
1) The Pastel Angel: Marielle
It’s already August but summer is definitely not over (PHEW) so rock those light summery colors now! Mint green not only makes me crave mint chocolate ice cream but also adds a subtle touch of colour. Crochet tops are freakin’ adorbs and a good way to embrace the floral trend if you’re not comfortable going full out hippy. Pair these with some cut off shorts and you are ready to elegantly sway to the music under the sun – or you know, dance until your legs feel like they’re going to fall off. We know which one we will be doing this weekend!
2) The Rocker Girl: Lindsay
Two words: Cut-off shorts. Ok maybe that was two and a half words but same difference. The important thing here is that in order to master the festival look you need cut off denim shorts. The good news is: there are about a billion washes to choose from. The bad news is: there really isn’t any bad news… you can’t go wrong with cut off denim shorts. Lindsay paired her shorts with a black crop top with mesh detailing, making the perfect badass look for the rock shows at the music festival this weekend. Tie a plaid shirt around your waist for a splash of colour which doubles as an extra layer if it gets chilly. We are in Canada, you never know what the weather might do, eh?
3) The Flower Child: Olivia
Peace, love and something else hippy dippy… doesn’t matter what you say as long as you get the clothes down! The key to winning the flower child look: Wear a floral flowey dress, a billion bracelets and something denim. We saw the hippy inspired styles at Coachella and basically all the other music festivals so if you follow these rules you will be super trendy. If you have long hair whip it back and forth Willow Smith style because you’re a free/happy/total wild child today!
4) The Bold Babe: Jade
Two fashion statements in one? Love it! Wear a romper and you know you’re on trend. Wear a romper with a bangin print? You are guaranteed babe status. Be prepared to have your photo taken by all the music/fashion bloggers because You. Are. Killing. It. A cool backpack and some simple jewelry is all you need to complete this look. The only thing is you might have to get naked when you go to the bathroom on the festival site… but hey girls, we do what we have to in the name of fashion!
5) The 90s Chicka: Jenny
As someone famous in the 90s once sang: Girls just want to have fun! And what is more fun than overalls? Other than dinosaurs pretty much nothing… except wearing overalls at a sick music festival! Just saying, the 90s have made a hella big come back. So this is an ideal time for all people to join the 90s style icons/fashionable 5 year olds and wear their denim one piece. Ripped fabric is also super 90s soooo since it’s summer and we don’t have to worry about school/work dress code a few tears here and there are 100% a good idea. Add a kimono to look like a boss. Kimonos are great to wear at a festival because they are a light layer that will protect you from the sun but won’t make you hot (temperature-wise that is)!
PS. For all you girls going to Osheaga Music Festival this weekend, make sure to come say hey to us and show off your Garage outfits for a chance to be featured on the blog!
