What. A. Weekend. We are only just feeling human again now. The excited-jumping-sun-kissed-music-festival-filled-alien-creature (try saying that seven times fast) we turned into from the Osheaga fun is almost gone. This awesome festival alien will be back in a couple days when we’re off to Outside Lands, but for now let’s take a look back at the best weekend in Montréal this summer AKA Osheaga.
We saw so many girls looking f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s, dancing like crazy in the crowd wearing Garage clothing. It was also super cool to see bands rock Garage on stage. The Motel Raphaël girls all looked like total babes in Garage clothing, and to prove it they were chosen as having the most beautiful celebrity look at Osheaga! The Beaches also rocked Garage on stage during their earth-shattering set. Drums plus an oversized striped t-shirt equals total rockstar vibe.
Making new friends is the bomb and we couldn’t have asked for cooler girls to spend the festival with. Bloggers Rachel aka Jag Lever and Noelle Downing flew in from New York to come to the festival with us. Garage Festival Contest winner Shelly Stuckman came all the way from Arizona to check out Osheaga and go on a Garage shopping spree. We had a blast and miss them already, how did it go by soooo fast?! Follow their adventures on Instagram!

At the beginning of the weekend we were all like POUTINE! There was poutine everywhere. Some of it was awesome, some of it was freezer burnt, all of it still tasted freaking awesome. It’s kind of hard to go wrong with fried potatoes, cheese and gravy all piled in together. We watched shows standing in line for poutine, we ate it for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner. We lived the poutine, we became the poutine. And we learned our lesson… it’s time for a major poutine cleanse. There’s a poutine strike happening until at least next weekend.
Osheaga always inspires people to expand their musical horizons, but we didn’t expect it to inspire us to put a hammock in our bedrooms. The “chill area” was off the hook! There were hammocks, weird lights, and free wifi. Other than free chocolate it had everything you need to survive. There was also a teepee which made for a super cute Instagram photo with Rachel.
Where to start. There was so so so much good music. Bands we had never heard of blew our minds, and people who we knew would be awesome were so much better than we could have imagined! Haim was on our must-see list from day two and they did not disappoint. Their sound was a lot heavier than expected but it was fun rocking out to them. And Lorde. Lorde was stunning. It’s the only word to describe her performance. Her voice and stage presence were unbelievable. She was like watching a unicorn.
The thing we have to mention
WTF was up with all the bros! You know the guys we’re talking about: the guys with the colour coordinated tank tops, colorful underwear, maybe their hair had frosted tips. By afternoon they were walking around topless with a lemonade in hand, a little bit of glitter paint splashed across their chest. Montréal is always overflowing with hipsters, but the bros? The bros were a new creature to us. Osheaga? More like Brosheaga!
