Originally from Arizona, Griffin Arnlund moved to Los Angeles, California when she was 17 to take a step forward in her career and pursue her dream of being a successful actress. Since creating her first YouTube channel at the age of 15, she has attracted an audience of over 700,000 fans across YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat. From her beauty tutorials and fashion trends videos, to her many collaborations with other YouTubers, she has become an idol to many young people around the world. What makes Griffin even more special is her determination to combat bullying, sexism, domestic violence and other social issues. By sharing her own stories, she has inspired girls around the world to be themselves and to never give up. It was a pleasure to have Griffin amongst us for the shoot as her positive vibes were felt by everyone around her. Read below as Griffin Arnlund throws it back to the 90s in mom jeans and shares her thoughts on our new denim collection.
Tell us about moving out at 17 to follow your dreams. Was it hard to leave home?
I had traveled back and forth from my home in Scottsdale, Arizona to Los Angeles for about a year before finally moving at 17. So when I moved, it just felt like the natural next step. I was so excited to finally be doing it that it didn’t leave much room for fear or anything else.
What is it like being a YouTube sensation? Is there a lot of pressure put on you and does it affect you in any way?
What I love most about YouTube is connecting with my audience. Meeting my subscribers at events or just walking down the street is the best feeling ever. I know these girls look up to all of us on YouTube and that creates a bit of pressure. There are some videos I’ve had to not film after realizing what message it might send and I’ve had to really think about how I word things so yes, there is pressure but it’s actually a really positive sort of pressure. It keeps me present and really engaged with what I’m doing and saying.
You have a lot of different kinds of videos on your channel. Which was the most fun to make?
I have just as much fun creating a fashion haul as I do collaborating with a friend or doing a makeup tutorial! I’ve found I stay excited about what I’m making when I create what I feel moved to create as opposed to pigeonholing myself into one category.
In your opinion, what is an essential item that every girl should have in her closet?
Since it’s summer I’m going with a great fitting pair of denim shorts. You can dress them up with cute wedges and a nice top or throw them on over your bathing suit and head to the beach. Fashionable and versatile – it’s a win/win! Denim shorts or jeans are my essential item!
What do you think about the new Garage denim collection that you wore during the photo shoot?
You know how when you’re wearing really great quality denim it just feels different? The feel and fit of this entire collection is amazing. It’s very stylish – I’m actually wearing the shorts right now!

We took them to the iconic La Ronde amusement park and Parc Jean-Drapeau, located right in the middle of the Saint Lawrence River, had an impromptu meetup with a bunch of fans at our flagship store on Sainte-Catherine, ate poutine, rode bikes, and had so many laughs!
