Watch out Cara Delevigne, there’s a new British model on the scene and she’s about to become the next It Girl. Born Charlotte “Lottie” Moss, the 18-year-old sister of supermodel Kate Moss has already shot major campaigns and editorials, and became a cover girl for the first time this past January. Find out how she got her big start in modeling and why her DNA will lead to her success.
On her famous big sister
If the last name wasn’t enough of a giveaway, Lottie is the half-sister of the iconic supermodel Kate Moss. Lottie was born when Kate was 24. They share the same father, Pete Moss, who married Lottie’s mom after Kate’s parents got divorced.
On growing up with Kate Moss as her sister
Despite her famous relative, Lottie lived a relatively normal life growing up. She went to a regular school and lived outside of London.
On Justin Bieber
Lottie has confirmed that she is a Belieber: “He’s amazing. Oh, my God, I can’t even choose a favorite song!”
On the designer shop she’d raid
Christian Louboutin. But that doesn’t mean she has a closet full of red-soled shoes. Lottie says, “My dream would be to have all his shoes, but I can’t afford any because I don’t have a job, and I can’t make my parents pay for that.”
On her most prized possession
The stunning Stella McCartney dress she wore to Kate’s wedding. She told Teen Vogue that sometimes she likes to put it on and parade around her bedroom.
On how she started modeling
Lottie admits that her big sister is a big reason why she started modeling. She was spotted by model scouts at Kate’s wedding, but her mom didn’t want to expose her to the industry when she was too young. Then at 16 she signed with Storm Models in London and we predict she’s about to become one of the biggest names in fashion.
On her first modeling gig
A fashion spread for Dazed and Confused. The magazine was founded by Kate’s ex-boyfriend and father to her daughter Lila.
On her big break
She was launched into stardom when Calvin Klein featured her in their ads. History repeated itself as this is exactly how Kate started her modeling career.
On being short for a model
Relative to how tall models usually are, Lottie is on the shorter side at only 5’5″. However her sister Kate was able to become the biggest model in history at only 5’6″ so we don’t think this will stand in her way.
On her favorite animal
She loves sloths. (Don’t we all?)
On her power girl anthem
Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”!
