Beach waves don’t have to come from the ocean. No matter where you are this Spring Break, on the beach or at home taking in a little staycation, here is the best way to get beach waves for every hair type. Say hello to a carefree, effortlessly cool look.

Straight Hair

Wash your hair and dry it until it’s damp. Add a texturizing spray and then twist different sections, pulling them up into a loose bun. Let it air dry. Use a medium sized curling iron and wrap sections of the hair around it. Don’t worry about being too precise, it’s not supposed to look perfect. Run your fingers through the curls to break them up and use more texturizing spray to make sure you have the casual waves beach girls crave.

Wavy Hair

You girls are lucky because your natural hair gives you an amazing base to work with. Take a shower and add some curl cream to make your waves easier to work with. Pull your hair into a loose bun and let it air dry. Once it’s ready, let the bun go and if necessary use a medium sized curling iron to add a bit more curl. Finish it off with a salt spray and you’ll have perfect beach babe hair.

Curly Hair

Start off by blow drying your hair so it’s a bit straighter. Before you hit the heat, use an anti-frizz serum otherwise the humidity outside will ruin your new look. Once your hair is straighter, use a medium sized curling iron to add loose waves. Finish with surf spray for extra texture. Add a touch of hair spray so you don’t get fly aways.

Short Hair

Wash your hair before bed. Spray texturizing spray when it’s damp. If your hair is particularly thick, braid it as much as you can before you go to sleep. In the morning use a hair straightener to fix the parts that didn’t dry right. If it still looks too clean, add more texturizing spray to make it a little more wild.
